Blog Sessions

For me it was a new experience to write whole texts in english, because in school english class was very basic, I didn’t learn too much actually. But these blog sessions have helped me a lot to improve in my writing, and now I´m able to think what I’m going to write in english firstly, not think it in Spanish and then translate it.

Also what I mostly liked of the process was the freedom to write about topics that I’m interested in, because it sometimes lets me extend and write about personal experiences, feelings, music; and in that way I feel more motivated, which makes classes more dynamic
.
One side of the blog sessions I didn’t like was the fact to have to come to the university only to write in the computer, because it spend between three and four hours traveling from home to the university, and sometimes I didn’t want to come to do something I could do from my home, maybe a good improve could be let the students do the blog sessions in their houses.

Also what I liked of the process was the fact to write comments in my classmate’s blogs, because it makes me know things about their tastes, their lives and personal opinions.

De-Loused in the Comatorium

De-Loused in the Comatorium is a conceptual album from a band called The Mars Volta. This album is based on a story written by the singer of the band, Cedric Bixler-Zavala, and the sound engineer, Jeremy Ward. The narration is about Cerpin Taxt, a man that tries to commit suicide and has an overdose of morphine that leaves him in a coma for one week. In that period he experiments a journey into his own subconsciousness, and has all kind of visions about crazy and non sense situations.

Is a very special album because it has its own book too, and the story with the music works very well. Is an intense work of art, the music can submerge audiences in an atmosphere full of ups and downs, sometimes it inspires quietness, and then suddenly it becomes aggressive, so is a very dynamic thing to ear.
